10-Day Harleys and Golf Tour itinerary
Our guide will pick you up from the airport and show you some of the sights of Cape Town before settling you in at your overnight accommodation to freshen up for the tour welcome dinner.
Day 2 (140km)
After breakfast you will be transported to the Makani office where you will collect your bike and ride out to our overnight stop, Hermanus, along the stunningly scenic Clarence Drive. After lunch you will play a round at either the Arabella course or the Hermanus course.
A long day in the saddle, but worth it. We ride to Botlierskop Game Reserve, where we will enjoy an afternoon/evening game drive and then overnight in this beautiful reserve.
After a leisurely breakfast we ride to George, and the Fancourt course where we will play a round and then ride to the Pinnacles in Mossel Bay.
Day 5
After breakfast we have the option of trying out the world’s longest over the sea zipline, before heading out for a round at the Pinnacles course. We stay at Pinnacles again tonight.
It is another day in the saddle as we take the scenic route to our overnight stop in Montagu. We will tackle the magnificent Robinson Pass, then the Huisrivier Pass. We make a stop at the world famous Ronnies Sex Shop, before riding on to Montagu.
After breakfast we ride to Franschhoek past the main water supply dam for Cape Town – Theewaterskloof Dam – before riding the Franschhoek Pass and riding into the culinary capital of South Africa. We will then play a round at Boschenmeer/Pearl Valley before returning to our accommodation on a wine farm.
We depart Franschhoek and ride on the R301 towards Paarl. Before reaching Paarl, we turn off and ride the Du Toitskloof Pass, then experience the beauty of the Slanghoek Valley, before tackling the Bainskloof Pass and stopping in Wellington for lunch. After lunch we ride past Philadelphia towards Melkbosstrand, and head down the Atlantic Seaboard to our overnight accommodation in Hout Bay.
Day 9 (90km)
We depart Hout Bay and ride along the iconic Chapmans Peak Drive and head off to the Cape Point where we will visit the Cape of Good Hope – the most Southwestern tip of the African continent, and then take the funicular to the lighthouse.
We then head off for the final round of the tour at either Clovelly, Westlake, or Steenburg. After the golf we head off to our overnight accommodation in the quirky village of Kalk Bay and have an end of tour celebration dinner.
Day 10 (80km)
After breakfast we ride back to the Mother City, past the Shark Spotters on Boyes Drive, and then past Pollsmoor prison where Nelson Mandela spent 5 years of his incarceration. We pass the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on our way to Table Mountain, where we will take the cable car to the top and enjoy the sights below. We return the bikes to Makani after which we bid farewell, and our guide will drop you off at the airport.
Please be aware that this tour may need to change due to weather, road conditions or other factors. Please be flexible, but rest assured your tour leader will make the final decisions only after consulting with group members. Your safety is our priority.
