Full Itinerary for the Tour of Champions
Day 1: Cape Town to Cape Town (140km)

Those who are coming from far and wide for our Tour of Champions will be collected from the airport before being taken to their accommodation for the day to drop off their luggage. Thereafter, the group will depart for Makani to collect the chosen Harleys for the trip.

Day one includes a slightly calmer start to the journey as tour goers get their first taste of these stunning motorcycles with a ride around the Cape Peninsula. Here, riders can take time to embrace the stunning scenic views where the mountainous land meets the sea. At the end of the day, we will return for a delicious dinner with the Makani staff!

Day 2: Cape Town to Lamberts Bay (280km)

The slow start to our adventure continues on day two with a slightly longer drive to the beautiful town of Lamberts Bay. This trip will allow riders to get used to their bike and the scenery! Tour goers will have ample opportunities to enjoy the stunning West Coast Cuisine, catch some sun and explore this town, dubbed the Diamond of the Western Cape due to its stunning white beaches.

Day 3: Lamberts Bay to Franschhoek (310km)

Our next stop is the picturesque town of Franschhoek. Nestled amongst towering mountains, this town is well-known as the heart of the Cape Winelands. Riders will be journeying the famous Piekernierskloof pass and Bainskloof pass to reach our destination.

Once in Franschhoek, tour-goers will have the opportunity to delight in several delicious wine tastings on the Wine Tram. This hop-on hop-off tour offers a unique experience for discovering the true essence of the Franschhoek Valley!

    Day 4: Franschhoek to L’Agulhas (280km)

While in Franschhoek, we will thoroughly explore the area with a visit to the Huguenot Monument and museum to experience some of the culture in this location. After that, we will depart along the Helshoogte Pass towards the spectacular Clarence Drive and onwards to the Birkenhead Brewery in Stanford – the first wine and brewing estate in the Southern Hemisphere!

We will stop here for a delightful beer tasting before visiting the maritime Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp. Our final trip for the day takes us to L’Agulhas, also known as the southernmost tip of Africa, where we will rest for the evening.

    Day 5: L’Agulhas to Knysna (380km)

Day five of our journey starts bright and early as we make our way to the popular harbour town of Mossel Bay. Here we will visit the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex, the second-biggest provincial museum! For the brave, we will be stopping for a true adrenaline fix to zipline over the ocean before heading back on the road to reach our final location for the day – the Knysna Heads.

Day 6: Knysna to Addo (317km)

Once again, we’ll be diving into an adrenaline-filled activity! The bravest will join us for the world’s highest commercial bungee jump over the Bloukrans gorge. After this excitement, tour-goers can expect a relatively calm day ahead as we make our way to Addo for an afternoon game drive at the Addo Elephant Park.

Day 7: Addo to Uniondale (302km)

Once visiting the Addo Elephant Park, we are sure you will agree that you can never see enough of these majestic creatures in person! Which is why we squeeze in one last morning game drive at Addo Elephant park before departing to Uniondale, where we will see whether we can spot the famous “Ghost of Uniondale”!

Day 8: Uniondale to Oudtshoorn (200km)

From Uniondale, our pack will travel along the spectacular Meiringspoort pass towards Oudtshoorn, where we will visit the Cango Caves and make a necessary stop at the Ostrich Farm (after all, that’s what Oudtshoorn is best known for)!

Day 9: Oudtshoorn to Montagu (250km)

On day nine, riders can look forward to a drive along the Huisrivier pass and a stopover for an obligatory photo at Ronnies Sex Shop! Afterwards, we will travel through to Montagu, where we will stop for a delicious tasting of Muscadel before retiring for the day.

Day 10: Montagu to Paarl (150km)

From Montagu will begin to take our travels closer to our starting grounds with a stop in Paarl to visit the famous Taal Monument. We will also be stopping for a cellar tour and tasting at the KWV Emporium – an experience you’ll remember for years!

Day 11: Paarl to Cape Town (60km)

From Paarl, we will begin the short trip back to central Cape Town to hit some of the most well-known spots of the area, including the V&A Waterfront, a ferry to Robben Island and a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain!

Day 12: Cape Town to Cape Town

The last day of our trip includes a walking tour of the city centre to get one last glimpse of our beautiful space before heading back to say goodbye to our Harleys. Thereafter, tour-goers will be taken back to the airport.
